Food Preparation / Clean Up

SUNDAY COMMUNITY MEAL TEAM: This team will be responsible to provide and serve the evening meal for our guests. Most of our guests are from the local homeless shelters and the Phillips Community of South Minneapolis. Teams of 4-12 desired. Your team will be responsible for purchasing, preparing, and serving our guests, as well as cleanup. Arrive at 3:00 pm for an orientation and set up. Serve meal from 5:00–5:45 pm. Clean-up done by 6:00. We ask that you let us know ahead of time what you will be serving to assist us in planning. Please plan on attending the 6:00 pm service that follows, if possible. Evening activities end by 8:00. Breakthrough provides serving supplies, paper plates, forks, spoons, cups, and napkins. Plan to serve 75 people and since your group will be providing the meal, we encourage your group to keep your budget to no more than $125. Breakthrough has a full kitchen which is available to your team any time after 3:00 pm if you choose to prepare the meal on-site; however, we prefer that the meal is pre-cooked and warmed up on site using our oven or stovetop.
