How it Works - Informing You Community (Posting Needs)
Meet The Need is designed so that all a church really needs to do is communicate with your community and your congregation about your new outreach capabilities. There are many options for getting needs posted, ranging from no effort on your part to significant involvement by your staff in the process.
There are 3 Major Need Types available through Meet The Need...you decide which types of needs will be posted based on what needs you want your church to get involved in meeting:
Your Church’s Resource and/or Missions Needs 
Use your “Dashboard” to post the needs of your church and missionaries to the entire Meet The Need network of churches, ministries, companies and individuals.
Your Member’s Needs and/or the Needs of Local Families 
No family can post needs themselves onto the database! Individual and family needs can only be posted in one of two ways:
- You May Post Their Needs
- Approved churches may post the needs of their members or other local families as part of their benevolence programs
- Approved ministries may post needs of the families they’re trying to help
- Or Have Meet The Need’s Call Center Do it for You
- You can simply refer families to Meet The Need’s 24x7 Call Center Meet The Need, which also acts as a Prayer Line. Our representatives with speak with each family, encourage them, pray with them if possible, post their needs, and link the family back to your church’s account on Meet The Need so your members can see their needs.
- To get started, download and customize our professionally-designed flyers, which direct local families to call Meet The Need’s toll-free number for the Call Center. Then select a nearby lower-income street or apartment building and distribute these flyers (or have a team hang door hangers) and/or post flyers in a few public places like a community center or laundomat.
- As we receive calls, you’ll see the families, their contact information and their needs on your church’s Dashboard. Each family will be listed as “Inactive” so that you can qualify each family and take steps to assess the legitimacy of their needs before “Activating” them, which makes those needs viewable by your members and others searching the database.
Local Ministry Needs 
You don’t need to do a thing! Just encourage compassion ministries you work with to post their volunteer and resource needs themselves directly on www.meettheneed.org, saving you the time you now spend exchanging e-mails and phone calls with local ministries finding out about their needs and then trying to find someone within your organization who can help. Because most ministries have small marketing budgets and limited staff, they are happy finally to have a way to broadcast their needs to you and other churches in the area quickly and easily! As soon as needs are posted, your members can then search the database by category (items or skills/interests) for those they want to meet.
